Tellington Touch - TTouch
Developed more than thirty years ago by internationally renowned equestrian trainer, Linda Tellington-Jones, TTouch has been actively utilitized in all areas of animal training, shelter and zoo enrichment programs, sports activities, and health care. TTouch consists of light, non-invasive bodywork (circular, sliding and lifting strokes), guided movement exercises, and unique tools, including the bodywrap and the Confidence Course. TTouch is a positive approach to training that affects the body's nervous system and results in increased awareness and range of motion, tension and pain reduction, and a repatterning of habitual ways of holding the body, all of which can have a profound effect on behavior and wellness.
The TTouch method builds cooperation and respect between the animal and handler, and the results have been shown to be effective for: - Puppies and kittens who are very mouthy, lack focus, or don't like to be handled or groomed. - Adolescent dogs who are over-stimulated, rambunctious, and hard to control on leash. - Aggression issues in dogs, cats, and birds. - Separation anxiety, noise sensitivity, shyness, and other fears and phobias. - Service, show or athletic animals who underperform due to nervousness or lack of confidence. - Motion sickness. - Excessive barking. - Animals who are recovering from injury or illness. - Issues related to aging ... and much more...

| The Berkshire Disaster Animal Response Team (DART) was formed under the auspices of the Berkshire Medical Reserve Corps as a result of a heightened awareness and growing concern for the vulnerability of animals in disaster situations, and the impact a lack of animal emergency planning has had on people and communities.
The Mission of Berkshire DART is to assist with evacuation and care of animals displaced by natural and man-made disasters. This is done by operating a pet shelter concurrent with shelters for people during disasters. Berkshire DART also promotes education, safety and disaster planning assistance to animal owners.
Since its inception, DART has conducted outreach and education initiatives at community events such as the annual Zucchini Festival in West Stockbridge, Great Barrington’s municipal rabies clinic and the Family Wellness Day at Berkshire South Regional Community Center in Great Barrington. Berkshire DART has established collaborative relationships with partner organizations such as Central Mass Disaster Animal Response Team (CMDART) and the State of Massachusetts Animal Response Team (SMART). Highlights of DARTs accomplishments include the procurement of a stocked emergency cargo trailer ready to set up a pet shelter, a microchip scanner and a decontamination kit for animals.
Berkshire DART is actively seeking volunteers to assist with outreach initiatives, as well as to staff emergency co-shelters in the event shelters must be opened.
